Prediction Of Changes In The Catering Industry

The world around us is changing very quickly. Technology is forcing industries to change because they fear being left in the past. The COVID 19 pandemic is another example of change that everyone has gone through. Meetings for school and businesses were done online and some of that still remains. This has greatly affected the world. We are still finding out repercussions and wondering how it will affect us in the future.

The catering industry is going to be seeing lots of change coming. COVID 19 forced people do things by themselves and restricted social gatherings. People figured out that they prefer working from home and no longer need to go into the office. My prediction is that office catering's are going to steadily decline. Companies used to have meetings or training and in the middle of them they would have something catered. With many jobs going remote there is not going to be a need to cater into the office since there are less and less people showing up each day.

Another change that many have noticed is that many families do not cook their own food most nights. Fast food places and restaurants are very convenient so lots of people are just eating there instead. This is leading to many young people not knowing how to cook. My prediction is that the social events that do happen such as family gatherings and other smaller get-togethers are going to start getting catered more often.

This shift in the culture is going to lead to more social events being catered instead of professional ones. Catering companies need to adjust how they do business to reflect the changes happening around us. Professional events and social events typically have different types of food so menus need to be adjusted.
